Wedding Photographer

A wedding photographer is not just another vendor. The wedding photographer’s work will carry on with your family after the music has ended and the cake has been eaten and the venue may no longer exist. This, of all vendors, needs your time and attention as this may be your most important of vendors.

So Many Questions: So how do you hire a wedding photographer?  How to book a wedding photographer? What do you look for in a wedding photographer? All are familiar and essential questions! Here is our view!

Make sure you have a great connection.

First of all you have to establish a connection with your photographer. At Hart Photography we like to know that we are a good match for our clients and our clients are a good match for us. Often times there are companies that will send out someone on their staff and the couple meets the photographer on the day of the big event.  At Hart Photography strive for perfect matches between photographer and client.

On your big day, this photographer will be mingling with your friends and family. Is this the person that can make kids smile and make even grumpy uncle Bob crack a smile. You want happy people that are bright and friendly. At Hart Photography we want to get to know our potential client before we say yes because we want to know that we are both a match for each other! It’s important to you and it’s important to us.

Chat with your photographer

You want to at a minimum have a conversation with the person that will actually be attending your event. You want to let them understand that aunt Salley is going to be coming in from out of town you absolutely want her in some key images. At Hart Photography we will give you a form to fill out with key friends/family/visiting relatives from abroad that you want a portrait of and special images that you would like on that day (in addition to traditional images).

Wedding Photography Style

You want to let your photographer know what style you prefer in photography. If you don’t know then ask your photographer what style they prefer. At Hart Photography we like doing candid’s throughout the event to capture those spontaneous un-rehearsed moments. We will do the more formal portraits for the official parts of the events. We will typically do key family portraits between the wedding ceremony and the reception.

What Wedding Photographer Not to Choose!

Do not choose someone that doesn’t seem to want to work with you. Photography is an art and if your photographer is not excited about your day it will show in his/her work. Don’t force it! If they don’t want to do it, find someone else.

It’s your big day! Let’s celebrate it in style and with professional photography.
